This is one of several expanded versions of our popular Deerfield Colonial standard design. Although the interior layout is very similar to the smaller standard, and it makes use of the same exterior detailing, 9 window front façade and 12/12 roof pitch, this home offers additional size in all three sections. These include a two foot widening of the main body to 26’ and a lengthening of the connector which collectively add an additional 228 square feet to the main levels of this home, making the rooms feel more comfortable. We have also added a third bay to the carriage shed for additional parking, resulting in a larger bonus room. We consider this timeless design to be our quintessential colonial.

There are two options for exterior finish on this house. If you want it to be formal, it should be painted in a white or off-white color with a slightly darker tinted color for the trim. The window sash can be painted with the same trim color or a darker “colonial” accent color. If you want an informal “antique” look, the house and trim should be stained with a dark black-brown color. In this case the window sash and front doors should be painted with a bright “colonial” accent color (barn red works well). In either case, the roofs should be sawn cedar or slate colored asphalt and the chimneys should be done with used or antique style bricks.
